TJCII’s presence in the UK began in 2004, nine years from the first activity in the USA, after Rev Tim Butlin, an Anglican minister then at Loudwater, High Wycombe, received an invitation out of the blue from Fr Peter Hocken, a Catholic priest, to go to a seminary in Austria and meet people involved in the TJCII vision. (Tim had spoken at the British Messianic Jewish Alliance in 2003 and this had come to Fr Peter’s notice.)
Tim and Fr Peter subsequently attended a TJCII International prayer gathering at Jerusalem in Sept 2006 and as a result of that, they committed to trying to establish a UK group. They combed their contacts lists for people likely to be interested and an initial meeting was held in Birmingham .
Since then there have been some changes. Fr Peter Hocken was called to the Lord in 2017 and in the same year, Dominic McDermott succeeded Tim as UK Director.

Annual

TJCII UK takes part, in the name of reconciliation and repentance, in the annual March of Life, an initiative begun in Germany to repent of the sins of the Holocaust and show solidarity with the Jewish people, particularly necessary in the current climate of antisemitism. This takes place in several UK locations around the same time as the Yom ha Shoa memorial in Israel, usually in mid-late April or early May) (distinct from the Holocaust Memorial Day observed in the UK and elsewhere, on 27th January.)
Other UK marches are known to take place (possibly on different dates, and not every year in all these places) in London, Bristol, Cardiff , Bournemouth,. Cambridge, Belfast, York and Oxford.
